         Last night was a great success!  Dream Boards were made  and all the Consultants that came,  know for sure ”Why we love BeautiControl”! 

If you could not attend last night try Googling the words DREAM BOARD. Or simply get out some magazines and start cutting out pictures of anything that has meaning to you…a pattern will emerge as you design your collage. Place a favorite picture of yourself right in the middle of it and frame and hang it where you will see it everyday.

Some of our Consultants last night, chose to make 8 by 12 sizes that fit right in front of their Client Re-order binders…a reminder that BeautiControl is your “Vehicle” to making your dreams  for your future a reality!

May 26, June 2 Team Meeting Coming!

Hi Ladies!

You are getting a quarterly flyer in the mail - wooohooo!!! In it you will have details of our amazing Face Race going on now through June 30th. Our Team goal is 500 faces amazingly saved with the Instant Face Lift phenomenon. Be sure to participate in every little detail of the race. There are prizes and lifetime clients in store for you! And what you do now through the summer will ensure for a fabulous Fall business.

Let me tell you about the June 2nd meeting coming up at my home in Durham and what I have in store for you. Directors around the country will often times have spa retreat weekends for their sales team. Our June 2nd meeting will give you a little taste of what that could be like. I do need your reply as soon as possible and please bring three magazines and a pair of scissors. This is what we are going to be doing that night.

  1. Learn why you are in BeautiControl when you make your own dream board. We will be cutting and pasting pictures and sayings and making collages just like a scrapbooking camp. In the process, you will learn what is really, really important to you. I have mine framed above my desk and look at it everyday.
  2. Make your client reorder binders.  If you don’t have one of these yet, you will when you come to this meeting. If you already have this in place, perfect - You will get another one to fill up again with more clients. You can even pass it along to your next consultant to help her with her reorder business.
  3. Pass the torch and share your best spa story. If the night is cold, s’mores will be made in the fireplace and if the night is hot, we will share our stories on the porch. Our spa stories, good and bad, are what keep us bonded and dedicated to moving forward in our businesses. You might even shed a tear.

And of course, we will have May recognition and current BC spa deals of the month. This will be an incredible night of bonding with your spa sisters, igniting your summer spa business and re-recruiting yourself!  This is our 34th Team meeting since the Liscomb Unit established September 1, 2006. I am amazed at the dedication and comradery we have built together as we look forward to the future building the next units here in Maine, even yours.  RSVP to me at elizabeth56@suscom-maine.net . May 18, 2009 and How to “Work” the Sale!

Class Reunions, Mothers of the Bride, Moms with Kids, Kids with Moms, Neighbors, Women your husband works with, Wives of men that you work with, Bank Tellers with wrinkles, Daycare owners, Gardeners, Landscape owners, Starbucks, Walmart, Chamber of Commerce breakfasts, Your Hairdresser, Your hairdresser’s shop owner, Did I say Class Reunions?, Hannaford’s, Ladies in the aisle at RiteAid, Craft fairs, Church, Zumba classes, Shoestores, Wine tastings, Nurse’s stations at your favorite hospital, previous spa hostesses (ewww, that’s a biggie!), Lamaze classes, Doggie Daycare, Nursing Homes, Your relatives, Your Dentist, and your 5 favorite friends that will do anything for you no matter what!!!!

Do you think there are ladies with wrinkles in that paragraph? Does that paragraph jog your mind? Do you think all of these people in Maine have tried BeautiControl? Heck, no!

There are people around us everywhere, it is just a matter of being aware of where we are when we are there.  Director Melissa Burrous says on the CD that you received for attending the Success Rally “My son always reminds me everyday ‘Mommy, don’t forget to take your black spa bag! When you sell products, I get toys at Walmart!” Director Laura Norton says  on leadership CD Number 1, “If you would like to have 4 bookings right away, this is what you do - #1) have your own mystery spa and #2) call your past hostesses that had the best sales and tell them you have a brand new neckwrap and they just have to have it and it is time to trade in. There is another booking.”

From just those two activities, you will generate 2 to 4 spas in the next month.

The big Memorial sale could mean to you an affordable way to bring incredible enticements to your next spa parties. Here are some great ideas that have worked for our teammates in the past. 1) Hot Date Booking Basket.  Products placed in a pretty basket with lots of shred (that you may have only paid $1 or $2 for) can be used as a booking enticement on specific dates that you want filled when they commit that night. 2) You can also use these heavily discounted sale items as a PWP (purchase with purchase). Example: If you are purchasing an IFL (instant face lift)set, you can choose a Thermal del Sole bath soak at half price or for $5, whichever you feel comfortable offering. 3) Gift with purchase. When a client buys a full maintenance and repair prevention set, you may give her a free green tea mask or foot cream. 4) Charity Auctions. If you have calls to donate baskets, Memorial Day sale items is an opportunity to get your name out there, plus it generates funds for your favorite charity. Don’t forget to put in a coupon for a free IFL for two. 5) Re-order Gifts. Include something extra with every reorder you take from your clients. Example: your best skinlogics reorder client with her next order, no matter how small, give her a free discontinued lipstick or blush from your inventory. Her good word on  your service is worth much more than the $3 or $4 in product you give away. 6) Sign on bonus - this is a biggie! Often times you can close a new recruit’s consultants agreement when you offer her a product sign-on bonus package. For example: Offer her a sampler pack of your sale items or a free instant manicure (or even a free IFL if you got one free last month). It gets the products in her hands before her beautycase arrives and gives her that little edge to be successful right away. 7) New Consultant 48-hour Challenge: Last November we picked up Show of Hands Instant Manicure for $6. A smart recruiting mindset would be to give your new consultant a free SOH instant manicure so she can go out and share right away, sell and make the profit to pay for her beautycase. 8) Gift Giving: Graduation gifts, birthday gifts, bridal shower gifts with Spa Sugar, our products can be beautifully packaged and presented like any upscale day spa would offer. And Memorial Day sale prices mean it costs you less money! 9) Bed and Breakfast: This is a huge industry in this state and they are buying bath and body products to place in their rooms from somebody, why not buy it from you? 10) Always treat yourself and try everything we have. Sale prices allow you to do that.

Your inventory should be deep not wide. Always order smart. Your skincare and skinlogics should be deep on your shelf. Keep bath and body products minimal (you don’t need one of everything). Color cosmetics, only stock what you personally use and love. May Success Meeting at my home last night was HUGE!  Over 20 ladies  in attendance!!! Consultants we haven’t seen in a while came out of the woodwork! Instant Face Lift is the BUZZ!  There was standing room only!  EVERYONE that came received from BeautiControl a beautiful copy of the new BeautiControl News with HUGE spread of a before and after photo of Instant Face Lift..plus a new Spa Info DVD included in this new publication.  PLUS a FREE sample card of Instant Face Lift with all four products to take home and try on the spot!
If you missed it, here are the highlights….

We demsonstrated Instant Face Lift on 3 guests all in different age groups. Even the “sensitive” Tupperware Director loved the Chemical Peel!  Dee took photos and will be published soon!   The Instant Face Lift is completly changing our businesses! Spas sales are higher than ever…and our team is doing Instant Face Lift on one and two guests in between spas too!

Next, we had role plays and skits. Angela Westhofff and her consultant Cindy Tripp did a roaring act of what comes in the Spa Business Case! Cindy pretended to be the new Consultant, who we signed up all over again, could harldy hold all the stuff you get! and Ang was the recruiter.  WE all wanted the Business Case after Angela shared how fabulous an offer it is!

 Then Dee Turcotte, a.k.a., Anita Spa Queen Diva, drew names from the On-Time drawing box, and called three consultants sitting right on my couch!  “Nita” booked a spa, coached a hostess, delivered a spa basket, and made a sale..all in 20 minutes!
We learned thats how little time it takes to keep your business thriving!

Here is the breakdown for maximum cash flow…

*$800 in Retail Sales every week always gives you the 50% discount.
*Achieve $800 in Sales by comitting to your calendar and have one Spa Party  or Personal Spa Appointment holding every week.  Add on repeat orders from your client base and even one more Instant Face Lift Demo.  Dee proved its just 20 minutes a week to make these calls to keep your calendar full.
*$800 in Retail sales every week means that you are going to the BANK and depositing $400 Profit in your account on Friday. Results would be $1600  a month in extra income, and the cash flow you desire to keep your business thriving!

Kash is King!  Move your products by being in constant contact with your world of clients, prospects, friends and family. Nothing happens until a sale is made.  The Spa and Instant Face Lift is the BEST place to meet new clients!  Book one every week!

Wow ladies!  For those that went to Saturday’s Success Rally….wasn’t it great?!  It was the largest BeautiControl Meeting ever held in Maine to date!  Over 30 Spa Girls in one room! I am still emotional about all of you and seeing your faces there!

 The Challenge between us and the Lakeman Team…which team could get the most Spas posted by Saturday….Well. I am so proud of all of you for stepping up and booking more spas!  (They only beat us by 4!!)
You are the winners here for sure!  I am so proud of all of you …and let me know when you get those Dog Tags!

Now we have work to do…You have Spas booked for January, what will you learn to make the best of your time?  Prep and get ready to get to the $500 and up sales goal. Call or e-mail with every spa result…I want to know how the night went for you!

Hostess Coaching is the key!  Each of you with January Spas will have success. I know it!

YOU have your appointments…get your action plan in place…contact that hostess and get her excited!
Does she have SkinLogics Minis to try before her spa so she can tell her guest how wonderful her face feels? If you do not have minis, can you let her borrow a skin care set to try?  Does she have a Show of Hands and TFF sample card to take outside orders?  Have you instructed her to call her guests in person to invite?   Use the Hostess envelope as a check list for what you need to tell her….she is your business partner and she wants to have a successful event for you .

Best tip I can give you: Make an index  card of every little detail you want to share with her and tape it to your computer and keep a copy in your date book.  Over time, it will be memorized and will just come naturally what to say.

Reminders like;  Clean Microwave, No Children, simple refreshments, and a card table in the living room for your display.
What time will you arrive, Directions to her house, her cell phone and home phone number in case you get lost…and  leave a  copy of her address and phone number on the kitchen counter so your family knows where you are.

 Have your spa bag, order folders and anything else you take ready to go …no rushing around after work the night of your spa.  If you were ever a Brownie or a Girl Scout…it pays off to be prepared.

Before you go in to her house on spa night…breath and say, “its all about them…pampering them and take away their stress…it is often times the first time in weeks for many, that someone has said, “relax, I am your relaxation fairy, I give you permision to stop and take some time for you”

Enjoy the night…and ask for the sale at the end…”What would you like to take home with you tonight” What was your favorite treatment” Are the magic words….and the sales will come.  “What night would you like to hold your spa?”
And the bookings will come that night too!

 Keep track of your spa dates..look ahead 3 weeks in advance  and start hostess coaching! Be the best “event planner” ever!

Yes…100 crunches will get us flat stomaches…what would 100 spas do for our team?

Start your 2009 business off with a BIG Push! Start our Teams’ New Year off with a big bang!! ooooooh that is loud!  AND….

We will compete with the Lakeman Team in Bangor for most bookings!….more on this later…

To get ready for our teams FIRST Book-a-thon of 2009…here are some words that might be helpful!  You could even start TONIGHT!  See if you can reach anyone tonight in person…

“Hi, this is Anita, Spa Consultant with BeautiControl.  Tomorrow my Spa Director is challenging me to book spas into Spring!  She is going to do drawings and give extra rewards to my hostesses, (That is you!!)
So I wanted to give you some dates now, so you could call a few friends or see them at work…Then you could talk dates with them and I can lock it in for you tomorrow night.  I hold Spas on Thursday night and Saturday mornings…which works better? OK, I have the  8th and the 29th  …which would be better?”

If you get them tonight, then book them if you can, that works too!  Sunday calling will help for more success on Monday night.  AND it takes about 30 minutes to talk to a couple of ladies..I find many are home on Sunday night!

If you get a message machine try this:

Hi, this is Tonya with BeautiControl. I know you asked me to call you after the Holidays about a Spa Date, many asked me to do that. So tonight is my night to get all of my hostesses locked into my open dates.  I only have 2 left for January and 4 in February.  Because you are not home right now, I will call you every 30 minutes untill I get you.  I want to honor the fact that I told you I would get you your Spa date. My calendar is filling fast!”

Then call again and leave a second message..

Hello again, I told you I would call again about your Spa date.  I will be in my office for another hour and a half,  I really want to honor the fact that I told you I would give you a Spa date before I fill them up.  I like to take care of the ones I talk to first.  Call me if you get in the next 30 minutes….”

Here are some common things you will hear when you get a hold of them…

Excuse number 1:  “Let me call my girlfriends and see what date works for them..”

You say, “I have found that I need to find the date that works for Us!  Then when you invite your 10 friends, then five will be able to make it. Or if you invite 30, then 15 will be there.  So lets pick a date for us…I will put it in pencil…then call your two best friends that you love to hang out with and see if they can come that night..  Its also normal for my hostesses to have another spa the next month so she can have the rest of her friends that could not come.”

 Excuse number 2:  “Oh!  I just don’t know..I am so busy right now…Or I have this and that going on…..”

I say, ” Yes!  Perfect!  We are all so busy!  But that means we need to take time and spa ourselves even more!  One night and two hours of relaxing really sets us up for a great nights sleep and energy to handle our busy lives.  So lets find a night of fun and spa-ing that works for you and I!  Its so worth it!  This is not like normal in home parties….  Don’t do anything more than brownies and milk or chips and salsa…NO work!  But you do get a free neck wrap just for vacuuming!!!!”

Keep you conversation about what is in it for her!  Remind her of her hostess awards!  Make sure you have them on your desk in front of you when you call her.  If you feel her hesitating…go over all the rewards she will get!

OK!  Remember people need what you have!  BUT of you do not pick up the phone and call them, then someone else will share BC with them some day and you will be sad it was not you!

Our New President is going to make sure that EVERYONE has been to a BC Spa! And when they come, they buy!  They might as well buy from you!!!

Telephone calls…

December 7th, 2008

Why am I talking about making calls in the middle of December when we all have so much to do?  I hear lots…all week long from all of our wonderful consultants…and this is a subject that needs addressing now….

Nobody, moi included, likes to call people we don’t know or maybe just met. Its just a little fear of being hurt ladies…or even hung up on. Nobody wants to sound like a telemarketer. But look at what you will leave behind if you choose not to call …..

We would never have met Valerie Gamache…because if I had not called and found an alternate location for her spa that cancelled because her dear father had passed on, We would never have known Valerie…and we would never had known Amy Ritchie,  Pat or Jen Watson, or heard the excitement in Sharon’s voice at last Rally.

We would never have known Jen (Crocker) Folker because I could have been too scared to show our Black Bag at a Swanky Salon and Photo Studio and never would have met Brenda Pelletier.  I would not even be a Director if it weren’t for Brenda.

 We would never have known Dee Turcotte because I was too scared to say anything at Verizon to her after she sold me a phone. (And never have met her mom!)

We would never have met Nina, Regina or Audra,  or never have seen the look on Jen’s face when she won the gigantic “Stocking full of Makeup” because I did not want to invest in the booth fee at a bridal fair and call back a stanger I did not know to book a spa.

We would never have know Ivette or Danuta, Cheryl,  or Sylvia, because I was too intimidated to call Sylvia back after we met at a spa. Beautiful Elizabeth Berry would not know about BeautiControl and she would never show me that wonderful happy look in her eyes, when I put makeup on her at BeautiU.

You don’t know Judy Mosher and Susie Baker. These are my first Consultants 18 years ago and we are still great friends and they are in our Unit, I so wish they lived closer ’cause I know you would love them!

You would never have gone to Texas, or had that intimate meeting with Marybeth two weeks ago . For those that went…can you even imagine NOT having that experience!?!

Calling or Follow-up is NEVER about you….get inquistitive and ask…don’t you want to know what they want? Can you help them get it?

THIS is YOUR week to call about Holiday orders…and set a HIGH Goal…$1,000 to $2,000 in ten days…YOU CAN DO IT!  You cannot hit a goal you cannot see. Write it down, what do you want?  Make it so!

Adopt a 24 hour call back policy no matter what. It will pay you back in profit and unlimited friendship.

December and its time to sell!

Hi Ladies:

I love this time of year….despite the economy and the news media….the Holidays come for sure and people give gifts for sure! I think this year, I am looking for my own Holidays, simple pleasures, like branches of evergreens, bowls of pine cones and red candles….and yes, Relax Body Oil in a warming pot for fragrance. People will be spending less..but they will be spending!  And Spa sells doesn’t it? Spa at Home.  Day Spas will not see the volume this year…but thats where we come in. Treatments at home…affordable and what a gift!

  BeautiControl products…Spa, skin care, makeup and fragrance…are all products that people shop for ..especially in a “lipstick economy”  Just go to the mall in Portland and hang out by the fragrance counter..and watch.  One of my favorite things to give the females in my family is makeup. My mom always runs to the bathroom and tries it on…much better than a sweater that may or may not fit..its an instant feeling…”I am beautiful in this!”

So how do you sell outside the Spa and get your market share of all the Holiday sales in Retail?….

All you have to do , is set yourself up with your friends, relatives, associates at work, neighbors and clients. (hello franc!) and let them know that you have the best on the market,  and ask them to buy from you.   Take the Time to Make the Time to Let Them Know and Ask.  Ask for the sale, Ask for the sale, Ask for the sale.

You offer customer service like the most exclusive boutique, gift wrapping, delivery to the door, even private parking if they come to your house.   You can tell your customers that you have something for everyone, so they can spend more time enjoying what the Holidays are really about…time with friends and families, no rushing around, and time to enjoy their favorite traditons. Mine is watching the Grinch and Scrooged!

Come up with a stocking stuffer list Lip Balm and spf20 Sticks are tops on the list!, Spa for Guys, how about Clear minis or Lip glosses for teens?, and any of our Hand or Foot treatments are great for teachers, baby sitters, doggie day care owners, fitness coaches, cousins and aunties!

And don’t forget to sell to men! They LOVE to have a beautiful package all wrapped up to give to the girl in their life! I don’t know of a single woman who wouldn’t love a Luxuries of the Sea Set and a pearl necklace or pearl studds or bracelet. ( He’ll have to go to the jewelry store for that one!)

 At the Rally on Tuesday,  Consultants came up with a huge list of where to go to ask for the sale…Who do you know that gets small gifts for their office staff?  Dentists, dry cleaners, day care owners, teachers, nursing homes, Salons,  assisted living centers, banks, lawyers, tanning salons, tatoo parlors ( Microderm Abraision!) post offices, real estate offices are really stressed! In fact, anywhere you see a business or do business with…make a plan and go ask the boss! Imagine what it will feel like when you take a large order of 22 Extreme Repairs and cuticle sticks!

All these ideas are great and Gary Jones’ Blog will have more too. Here is how you make this work for you. Look on your calendar and mark a time (an evening  this week or this Sunday afternoon), and make up some gift sets ready to show with inventory you have. Make a price list with catalogs.  Get a map and decide where you are going to go and who you are going to visit. and MARK it down on your calendar, the day you  are going…during lunch, after work…or even take a vaca day or sick day.  And then do it.

Write a script!  Like, ” I own a travelling Spa business and we are in the area today, May I speak to the owner or manager?” Then ask, Our Travelling Spa offers employee appreciation packages. What are you doing for your staff this year, and may I have some of your time?”  Its that easy…Go to where you know them first and practice!

Keep your Calendar with you too and Hostess info…you will spark interest and book spas for January. If you are so shy, you could never speak to a business…take a deep breath, and say yes you can. A whole world of new contacts and new people will come into your world. It is truly worth your time and you will learn so much about yourself plus make some great extra sales!

The best thing for you to remember is always carry a WOW product with you like Green Tea Masque or even simply Extreme Repair, and ask to everyone to try…you know that once they try , they will buy..all you have to do is ask…”How many would you like?”

“Pushy” October 19

I hear this a lot…”I don’t want to be pushy”  Have you ever said that? or felt it?
What do you think of when you think of a pushy sales person? A slick car salesman selling a lemon? A lady wearing “pink” , stalking you in the grocery store, telling you you have beautiful eyes and would you like a facial?  Or..have you ever been in any kind of boutique and you just cringed and said, ” I am just looking” when you knew she is coming over to sell you something? Its not the fear of having produts pushed on you..its the fear that the salesperson does not know you or care about you, and you do not trust  her!

Nobody wants to be sold anything, but we all like to buy from someone we trust!

The fear of us being thought of as one of those Pushy Sales people..is so strongly imbedded in us, it can really hurt our success as BC Spa Consultants. You don’t want that, right? So lets learn how to get over it!

And what is fear?  Just about the unknown. Just about being hurt and told NO.
Consider the best experience you have ever had making a purchase. My recent example would be the SnowBlower we bought on Sunday. ( Yes, SnowBlower  Its coming!) 
The whole experience was fun and we are glad we did it and further, Peter and I would reccomend that you go there to get yours!
Why? because the salesman knew his stuff!  He asked the right questions to determine our needs.   He guieded us to low, medium and high priced machines, (Sets one, two and three)  and he used one himself and described how he snowblows everytime to get his wife out the door for her 3 AM shift!

 Because he knew his stuff…he had the one and only antidote for Fear and that is Confidence.  He had extreme confidence because of two and only two reasons.  He used the product and beleived in it one hundred percent and…he knew all about it!  He knew his stuff! Plus he was genuinly interested in learning about and meeting our needs. So we trust him!

The best sale person out there knows how to develop Know, Like and Trust.  They know how to identify problems and meet needs. Know Like and Trust! This is especially important with the relationship you make with your hostess!  Does she know, like and trust you?

Snowblowers to Spa…it is the same thing.  Use everything yourself, spa yourself often…in fact read Gary Jones’s recent blog about E-mail Free Fridays and the Bathtub scene!  Read and learn all about MRP and the Top Three Spa Treatments…and the Hostess Program!  it is the best! Its all there on BeautiNet.
And if you think you know it already…go back and learn it again.

When you know your stuff…the fear of being pushy disappears…poof! You know in your heart of hearts, that what your new prospect or current client needs , she will love! Be sure to call her back too to be sure she is happy!

 Poof! Pushy is replaced by confidence. And that is what clients and prospects need to know from you! That you have confidence!

Excitment in your voice. People can feel it and hear it. You don’t have to be an extrovert and loud…in fact honest and sincere is better. just look people in the right eye and say:

Hi Sally, This is Anita!  I just started something new!  its a spa! I am getting my spa case in next thursday, I thought of you! Why don’t you come over and lets play spa!  Leave the kids with David, put on your sweats and come relax..I have eye pads, lip masques, ooh and this warming stuff that heats on the face! “I love these products and treatments and I know you will too!”

Or try this to someone you know a little bit or have done business with :  Hi Joanne, yes this is Anita! Listen, I have started something new. its a travelling spa! I go to homes or offices and bring relaxing and pampering spa treatments
We are famous for our bc spa party, I thought of you and would you like to host one? Great!

 Selling: Hi Susan! This is Anita..we met at …. Just checking in to see of you tried the sample I gve you ( or are running out of toner) or its time to change mascaras….
Ladies, this last note on selling: Keep up with your relationships with clients. If you have not heard from yor clients in a while, or they have not heard from you..call them again!  Better late than never right? If you need new clients…then ask and book more spas, period. 2 or 3 new spas will change youe whole business and outlook!

Ladies, asking or sharing is so simple. Just ask. Circumstances are all different, but weave bc into the conversation, ask for what you want and believe in your company and incredible products. Feel it in your heart. Clients need a good salesperson they can trust and count on. They will buy and book with you!
